Live Well Festival to Celebrate Wellness, Connection, and Support for Older Adults and Caregivers

The Geauga County Board of Mental Health and Recovery Services, in partnership with the Geauga County Suicide Prevention Coalition, hosted the Live Well Festival: Fun & Resources for Better Living on Wednesday, June 4, 2025, at the Claridon Woodlands Lodge. This was a free event for adults aged 50+ and their caregivers, offering a fun-filled day of education, entertainment, and valuable community resources.

The festival kicked off with a presentation by Kendra Yurgionas from the Geauga County Prosecutor’s Office, who discussed scams aimed at targeting seniors. In recognition of Elder Abuse Awareness Month, Kristina Miller from Geauga County Job & Family Services’ Adult Protective Services followed with a talk on identifying signs of abuse and neglect among older adults.

Guests enjoyed a free picnic lunch and live music from the Chardon Polka Band, a beloved local group known for bringing the fun. Throughout the day, Geauga residents connected with over 40 local organizations offering free giveaways, chair massages, health screenings, wellness activities, and legal and senior services information.

“The Live Well Festival is more than an event—it’s a celebration of community, connection, and wellness for our older adult population and their caregivers,” said organizers. “We hope attendees left with new resources, helpful insights, and a renewed sense of joy knowing that their community came together to support them today.”

The Suicide Prevention Coalition works closely with the community to create compassion and build hope through education, advocacy, and support, all in pursuit of a future free from suicide.
