Family to Family Education Program
Fall 2010
Free for family members, partners and friends of individuals with Major Depression, Bi polar Disorder (Manic Depression), Schizophrenia and Schizoaffective Disorder, Borderline Personality Disorder, Panic Disorder and Obsessive Compulsive Disorder, Or Other Major Mental Health Disorder and Co-occurring Brain Disorders and Addictive Disorders

A series of 11 weekly classes structured to help caregivers understand and support individuals with serious mental illness while maintaining their own well being. The course is taught by a team of trained NAMI family member volunteers who know what it’s like to have a loved one struggling with one of these brain disorders. There is no cost to participate in the NAMI Family to Family Education Program. Over 80,000 people in the U.S., Canada and Mexico have completed this course. Chardon Classes Begin: 6:30pm (to 9pm) Monday, September 13, 2010 and will meet for 11 Mondays at The Board of Mental Health and Recovery Services, 13244 Ravenna Rd. Chardon, 44024 (across from the UHHS Geauga Hospital)

NAMI Family to Family Education Program is sponsored by NAMI Ohio. It is funded by the Geauga Board of Mental Health and Recovery Services through the Mental Health Association in Geauga County.

NAMI Geauga

NAMI - Geauga County is for individuals, family members and friends of individuals diagnosed with major Depression, Bipolar Disorder, Schizophrenia and Schizoaffective Disorder, Borderline Personality Disorders, Panic Disorder, Obsessive Compulsive Disorder and Co-occurring Brain and Addictive Disorders.NAMI, the National Alliance on Mental Illness is a grassroots, non-profit education, support, and advocacy organization of families, friends, consumers, and professionals dedicated to improving the quality of life for all whose lives are affected by mental illness.

Our main support group meets at 7:00 p.m. on the first Thursday the month. Support groups are held at the Geauga County Board of Mental Health and Recovery Services, 13244 Ravenna Road (Rte 44) across from Geauga Hospital in Chardon.

Our Middlefield Support Group meets at 7:00 p.m. on the 2nd Wednesday of the month at the Middlefield Public Library.

NAMI Connection Peer Support Group meets at 1:30 p.m. on the 2nd and 4th Wednesday of the month at the Murray Center, 208 N. Hambden Street, Chardon.

Our educational speaker meeting meets at 7:00 p.m. on the third Thursday of every month. Speakers meetings are held at various locations throughout Geauga County. Call 440-285-3945 or email mdoehring@mhageauga.org for more information.
