The Geauga County
Board of Mental Health
and Recovery Services ensures that
quality mental health, alcohol and drug addiction services are available
to all residents of Geauga County. The
Geauga County Board of Mental Health and Recovery Services is
dedicated to planning and coordinating a full range of community-based
services that provide quality care and meet the needs of Geauga
County residents. In order to meet that goal, the Board:

Allocates
funds received from Federal, State and local sources to the
appropriate agencies to ensure that quality mental health and
substance abuse services are provided.

Provides
education and prevention services to the community.

Assures
quality and cost effectiveness of community programs by monitoring
all aspects of programs provided by the agencies.
We currently have
5 vacant Board member positions, one to be appointed by the Geauga
County Commissioner's. Also, vacancies for a physician, family member
and a person in recovery to be appointed by the Ohio Department
of Alcohol and Drug Addiction Services. If you have any questions,

Mission
Statement
It
shall be the mission of the Geauga County Board of Mental
Health and Recovery Services to provide leadership in the
development, implementation and evaluation of mental health
and substance abuse programs. As an agent for change in
Geauga County, this Board is dedicated to optimizing human
and financial resources and enhancing and stabilizing the
mental health of the citizens of northeast Ohio. Through
comprehensive needs assessment, the Board shall effectively
plan and coordinate a full range of community based services
that provide for quality client care in the least restrictive
environment possible.

From Cleveland points west:
Take I-271 to the Mayfield Road (SR-322) exit and head east.
Continue on Mayfield Road (SR-322) for 10.3 miles. Turn
right on SR-44 and continue for 1.9 miles. The Board office
will be on your right.

Youngstown and points south/east: Take I-80 W. towards Cleveland
(portions toll) and exit SR-44N (exit #13A). Continue traveling
north for 14.2 miles and the Board office will be on your
left. |
Take
I-90 (east if traveling from Mentor, west if traveling from
Ashtabula) to SR-44 for 9.0 miles to the Chardon Square. Go
through the square, continuing on SR-44 South for 6.0 miles
to SR-322. Continue straight through the intersection for
1.9 miles. The Board office will be on your right. |
