Several local agencies offer groups and classes which focus on anger management topics. For upcoming opportunities, check out both Ravenwood Mental Health Center and Catholic Charities Services links off this web site. Individuals may also pursue individual counseling for anger issues at local agencies.


WomenSafe is dedicated to eliminating domestic violence in our community and supporting its victims. WomenSafe offers presentations to the general public, schools, businesses, agencies, churches, and senior and youth organizations to learn about abuse-free dating, dynamics of domestic violence, date rape, elder abuse, effects of domestic violence on children, how to assess domestic violence, and how you can help someone who is being abused. Monday and Friday - male groups from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m.

Thursday - female groups from 9:00 to 11:00 a.m.

Attendance is voluntary but at times is court ordered. Topics covered include:

What is anger?

Identification of anger styles - passive, aggressive, assertive

Anger management using rational emotive theory which is based on the premise that feelings are caused by thoughts.

Stress Management Techniques

Healthy Relationship

Effects of chronic anger on body and mind.

Relationship of alcohol and drug abuse to anger.

How to communicate.

"Ism's - racism, sexism and ageism related to anger
