The Geauga County Board of Mental Health and Recovery Services announced the election of new officers of the Board for State Fiscal Year 2012. At their Board meeting on June 22, 2011 they unanimously elected Robert Goldberg, Ph.D. as Chairman of the Board, Joe Schellentrager as Vice-Chairman, Alberta Chokshi as Secretary, and Victor Matthews as Treasurer.

The Geauga County Board of Mental Health and Recovery Services is responsible for the distribtuion of funds and the administration of public mental health, alcohol and drug addiction services in Geauga County. It is the primary responsibility of the Board to develop, promote, and monitor services, facilities, and programs that are responsive to the behavioral health care needs of the citizens of Geauga County.

Currently the Geauga County Board of Mental Health and Recovery Services has four Board member openings. Three Board memebers will be appointed by the Geauga County Commissioners and one Board member will be appointed by the Ohio Department of Alcohol and Drug Addiction Services. This appointment can only be filled by a person who has recieved or is receiving services for alcohol or drug addiction. All Board members must be at least 18 years old and reside in Geauga County. Chairman - Dr. Robert Goldberg

Initially appointed on January 13, 2003 by the County Commissioners. Reappointed on July 1, 2005. Reappointed on July 1, 2008 by Geauga County Commissioners.

Vice Chairman - Joe Schellentrager

Initially appointed on June 19, 2003 by the Geauga County Commissioners. Reappointed on July 1, 2005. He was reappointed July 1, 2009.

Treasurer - Victor Matthews

Initially appointed on April 7, 2004 by Ohio Department of Alcohol & Drug Addiction Services. Reappointed on July 1, 2009.

Secretary - Alberta Chokshi -

Initially appointed on January 13, 2003 by the Geauga County Commissioners. Reappointed on July 1, 2008 by Geauga County Commissioners.
